Not a bit. Now guns in the cockpit is a bit worrying. I hope the airlines will lets us know when there are guns on a flight so that we can choose whether this is something we want to buy or something we want to avoid. I note that in 1999 nearly three times as many people in the USA were killed by accidental discharge of firearms (824) as by legal intervention with firearms (299). (Source: US National Safety Council http://www.nsc.org/lrs/statinfo/odds.htm ) Why do we think it is likely to be any different in an aeroplane from anywhere else? Wasn't that why when HXD went technical CX had to sub a 346 for SFO because that was the only aircraft they had available for the reinforced doors? Incidentally, HXD opped down to AKL on Apr 16 and Sydney had a 340 service for CX100/1 (presumably because of SFO taking the 346) which hacked me off as I had been looking forward to seeing the 346 in Sydney. As an aside, does anyone know if HXD is in 34C or 343 config?
