Cathay Pacific Asia Miles - CX 839: What Happened?

Is the daytime flight out of YVR still flying? When I check CX schedules, I get 2 flights to HKG from YVR (889 and 829) but both depart at around 3:00 AM.

The daytime flight would have been much more convenient so does anyone know why they don't have it anymore?

Don't tell me it's because of SARS because capacity out of YVR has not changed. It's just that now, their second flight departs at exactly the same time that the flight from JFK does!

Yes it's cancelled for a while due to SARS.

Your only option is those midnight flights.

has anyone checked YVR.ca?
i can see 889/888 but i don't see 829 in the departure board. it's not just tonite i checked a few nites ago and i didn't see that too

My guess:
Maybe there are no ex-YVR passengers on that flight? So CX decided not to park the aircraft at a gate after it arrives from YYZ (instead they would park the aircraft somewhere on the tarmac for refueling, servicing etc.)?
