Cathay Pacific Asia Miles - Are crew wearing masks on all flights on CX?

Hi All,

I know that SARS is still out there but, just curious, does anyone know if the CX crew wearing masks on all flights? or are they limited to only selected ones?

a majority of f/as are wearing face mask.

I can't imagine the mask wearing to go on in perpetuity. Maybe it's just me, but I think one would get sick of it pretty quickly. Then again, I doubt I'd wear one in the first place.

i got sick of it after 1 minute! could not breathe at all. most are taking unpaid leave just to get away from it all.

I think the CX FAs are very beautiful and they certainly don`t deserve to be wearing masks (I sure can think of other airlines in which FAs should have bags over their heads) except for their health.

I`m looking forward to this June 1st assessment! Once HKG ends the temperature taking in order to leave Hong Kong (ridiculous), I sure hope it all will be be back to normal and CNN gets sued for their "pop-star" promotion of this phonie scare!

If you fly a Japanese airline, NH or JL, in a premium cabin, they'll offer you a mask as part of amenities. This has been offered irrespective of Sars. A mask perhaps helps you breath more easily in the dry air environment on the plane? I haven't flown JL's F since last year but you can get one of those honeycomb mask, which just covers up the nose. It is a bit funny to see in the F cabin all those mostly middle-aged Japanese guys, who seem to like them, wearing them to sleep. http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/smile.gif

CX provided me with a mask on a HKG-JFK a few days ago. Or rather an attendant insisted that I take one of those masks but not necessarily wear it. (JL and NH provide these masks in sealed plastic bags but CX just hands them out uncovered.)
