Cathay Pacific Asia Miles - How quick will CX learn I'm no longer Oneworld Emerald?

I'm contemplating travel in very late February or very early March, and might be able to change my dates one direction or the other without any particular inconvenience. I'll lost my AA EXP status, and drop down to PLT, on March 1.
Will CX's computers instantly see the change in status, and give me only Business invitations to the Wing (rather than First), beginning on March 1? It would be handy -- though quite unexpected, and beyond what I'm in any sense entitled to -- if the CX system, for example, checked my Oneworld elite status at the start of the trip, and preserved that status for the duration of the trip (even if my status happened to drop a level during the trip).
The J side of the Wing won't kill me, obviously, but I figured I might as well check to see what others have experienced here.
Hey Bedelman : AA2MM to the rescue .
If your reservation is booked now , and
your AA FF acct number is in CX's computer,
when you travel after Mar01 , as long as
you don't touch that AA FF nbr in CX's
computer , it still will show you as an AA
EXP/thus Oneworld Emerald.
Now , the reverse is also true : if you are
now AA Plat , Oneworld Sapphire : by Mar 01
for some reasons , you become EXP/Oneworld
Emerald : if you don't ask CX to cancel
that AA FF nbr , and re-enter it : your
boarding pass will be printed out as
Plat/Sapphire .
So , what I am trying to say is : whatever
CX store in their computer now , will be
printed out as such on your travel date .
Good news , heh ?

im not sure about cx but a ba employee who workes at the lhr j lounge told me her system does not tell her what status i have in oq all they have to go by is the card. in my case she could not look up and see that i had become exp (ow emerald but you know that mr. edelman) recently but had not recived my new card. im guessing cx will be the same way, you might be able to convince them that you have been traveling and not recived your new card in the mail?

When I first became AA Executive Platinum (emerald) a few years ago in summer, I had a reservation with CX that was made a few months earlier while I was AA Platinum (saphire).
This reservation was automatically updated. This I came to know when I went to a CX office to make a routing change in a ticket and had CX print out the whole PNR. I was surprised.
It was a matter of days that this automatic update was done. I don't know exactly how frequently a sweep takes place.
CX reservation agents can certainly tell your AA status if it is in the reservation. This is also the same with check-in staff, as they issue lounge invitations according to your status.

Each Oneworld partner has their own schedule as to when they 'update' the masterfile.
American's system updates theirs regularly and the message is sent automatically to all oneworld partners. So when your status drops, AA appends your new status to your number. It has nothing to do with 'touching' your reservation etc. Your status will be reflected automatically. Maybe not instantaneously but eventually.
I made CX emerald in Oct last year. It took AA's computer almost 2.5 months to recognise me even though I have my new MPC Diamond card in front of me at check-in, AA's computer was still reading : Sapphire.

As of last month, Aer Lingus' computers still reflect me as Sapphire even though I've been EXP since November 2001! I guess it's hit and miss.

If I happen to travel the same days as you Bedelman, and seeing how much you've donated to Flyertalk, I'll gladly invite you as a guest into the F side. I usually don't know if I'm travelling until about one week before, so when I do have tickets in hand, I'll advise.

when I became Gold member on BA a few years ago, and I was traveling via HKG on CX, I called Air Liberté (BA's French Subsidiary at the time) and asked if they could fax a confirmation that I had reached Gold, although points and status had not appeared yet on the systems. I showed the "confirmation" fax sent by Exec club upon entering the Wings F lounge and they let me in.
