Cathay Pacific Asia Miles - CX flying into China?

Does anyone know whether CX has started to offer flights into mainland China now?

They expect to resume flights sometime in the 2nd or third quarter of 2003.

so the answer is no, not offering the flights yet.

So, if we're planning award travel to China in June of 2003, there's a chance that it could be done on CX? Right now, the best solution using AAdvantage miles seems to be JAL through Tokyo or Osaka to Beijing/Shanghai, etc...would prefer CX, to get a HKG stopover, even though it's a little out of the way.

CX is unlikely to fly into China in 2003. They have postpone the plan temporarily, according to a news I read few weeks ago

CX did not postpone the plan cos it's the most important one they are working on, however since KA has objection to CX's application, the process will take longer, most updated news is the License Authority will hold a hearing around 20Jan03

Which destinations they are planning to serve?

The routes that CX is putting the most importance on (PEK and SHA) are the routes that Dragon is raising a stink about.
