Cathay Pacific Asia Miles - CX & JAL Mileage

I flew discount coach on JAL to HK from ORD return this January, and I got mileage credit on my AAdvantage account for those flights. However, my JAL flight mileage does not count toward status membership because JAL is not an One World member. Can anyone confirm this?
Also, I called AAdvantage customer service, and they said only full fare CX coach fare can be credited to AAdvantage account, not discount CX coach fare. Is that true? How come AA credits JAL discount coach but not Cathay's?
Thanks for your help!

I can confirm that you get JAL mileage to your AA account but no status points since it is not a OW airline.
I personally wish that JAL was a fully blown OW carrier since their J product from Asia to Europe is so much cheaper in comparison to other carriers. And their product is excellent in comparison to QF and BA.
CX flights in coach DO earn miles on AA but only for certain fares. JL flights in coach earn 70% of actual miles flown. Do a google search for "fewmiles unofficial aadvantage" for more details.

Some discount fares on JL also do not earn either AA or CX miles.

Sounds like David Kung's booking class on CX was other than H class.
Only CX booking class in H, B and Y earn miles on AAdvantage programme. If you're based in Canada, then most CX booking classes in economy would earn you status earning miles.
JL is not a oneworld member but their booking class agreement is different from that of CX's with AA. It does not matter that one is a oneworld partner and the other isn't.
Look at Iberia and Qantas. You only get only 30% and 70% respectivelyt of base miles when flying in discounted coach and they're a full member of Oneworld!

I just booked my flight in CX H class. Does that mean I will get full base miles on my CX flights?
Guy Betsy: It seems that you are very knowledgeable about CX. Do you work for CX, or are you just a CX fan?

Well, YBHKLMS. But the problem is that more and more of CX's cheaper fares these days seem to be called V, which doesn't accrue in AA or CX.

Do CX M-class fares accure mileage in the JMB (JAL mileage bank) program? the JAL guide seems to suggest all CX fares earn mileage.
My understanding is between JL/AA :
You get base miles ( and class of service
bonus only , and these are not Q miles )
if you fly JL , on any class higher than H
( and you do not get any Plat or EXP double
miles either )
CX/AA :
Anything class higher than K , would give
you AA Q-miles , and you will get Plat or
EXP double miles bonus .
CX/JL : Dunno.
