We are flying to HKG next month and haven't decided what the best deal is - flying on vacation - from a value perspective. As a OneWorld Emerald (BA EC NA Gold for me & AA EXPL for my g/f) I understand we can only upgrade on AA flights which would mean flying SJC to NRT and onwards -which btw would also get us the 200% miles ...
Flying on CX would mean flying on FR or SAT and praying for an overbooked flight and an op Up ... (with no mileage bonus); neither of us belong to MPC!
Any thoughts?
