Cathay Pacific Asia Miles - Best CX Biz Class Seat?

What's the best seats in Cathay Biz class upstairs in a 747 for two people
traveling together? Probably on the JFK to HKG route.

I prefer rows 83 and 84. It is the back rows of the first of two sections in the upper deck. I don't like the back section as it is near the toilets.

I have heard many people say they like the first row of the back section in that it is by the emergency exit doors. I don't like it because there is no privacy, and there is plenty of pitch space between seats as to not be a factor.

I prefer the A340 for J, but on a 747 I'll take the lower deck. It allows for a faster exit on arrival and is less popular, giving you more chance of having an empty seat next to you. The lower deck also has more headroom.

Any more comments on CX old J upper deck? My flights next week are pretty full in J and I'm thinking about going upstairs despite my last post. The only available seats are the front and back rows of each J cabin. I don't like the front row downstairs because your nose gets rubbed in either F's galley or F's lavs.

Can someone confirm that the lavs are in the back upstairs? No lavs in the front?

Is there any problem with the first row upstairs? Will the pilots disturb me?

PaulSEA1: I have found no problem with the first row upstairs. The row in front of you is for crew rest and often nobody is in them so the seat recline does not seem to be much of a factor. The restrooms are located in the rear of the uppderdeck so you do not have to contend with lav waits. In flight, a curtain is shut around the cockpit door so you will not be disturbed by the codkpit door being opend/shut.

The only downside to these seats are you will be one of the last of the business passengers off the plane---they will hold the coach passengers back until you exit.
