Can first class passengers arriving in Hong Kong from N. America use the Wing on arrival even if they do not have a same-day connection with Cathay Pacific? Would be nice. Thanks.

No, arrival lounge is not provided for either F or C, it is a departure lounge only.

I have the same question when connecting to Dragon Air.

Same answer, can't use the Wing/Pier unless departing on a Oneworld airline (Dragonair does not qualify). The sole exception is if you have CX Diamond status which allows lounge access even if not flying that day. CX has become strict in enforcing the lounge access rules (after being deluged with people trying to get in for all sorts of reasons). And they've recently improved the F lounge food quality (hard as that is to believe, it was very good before).

There are arrival lounges in other ports which you can use but not in HK.

The Wing is busy at certain times but can be quite empty during the day. I am happy the lounge is strictly managed however there is a need to make certain exceptions at times when it is obvious the member is not taking advantage but genuinely finds themselves in a situation where the lounge would help their journey.

For a start, CX could do a deal with KA so members flying on KA are given access until CX fly's to China.

CX already has something similar...but not direct with KA...but it's for Gold and Diamond MPOs only (not just Diamond)...all Gold and Diamond MPOs arriving from long-haul CX flights connecting same day to China, on ANY airlines, have access to the Business Class section of The Wing/Pier (not new to Diamond members, since they have this access anyway before)...

Thanks to all who replied to this question. I guess everyone agrees that arriving as a First Class passenger won't get you into the Wing. I suppose being AA platinum ( One World whatever gemstone ) wouldn't help, although in Europe it seems to get you into the One World lounges on day of flight - even arrival day.

The fundamental problem at HKG is that there is a very clear separation of arriving and departing passengers - there is no mixing once you are airside of security. All of the airline lounges are airside. The only way to get to the departures level is to have a boarding card for flight onwards on that day.

KA has a separate departure lounge, but it is not in the same league as the Wing.

Maybe it's an 'asian' thing? No major asian carrier offer Arrivals Lounges in Asia. Perhaps its a personal asian thing that if one wants to take a shower/bath/freshen up, one should do it in the confines of one's home/hotel?
