Cathay Pacific Asia Miles - 5000 Aadvantage on line booking bonus on web

Just visited the cathay-usa web site and saw that they are offering a 5000 Aadvantage bonus miles booking bonus on any fare.

Not bad, now if only they would offer this on their Cx Leverage site

5,000 is pretty good, but... I remember booking on the CX USA site for 10,000 bonus miles a few months back, which amounted to about a 50% bonus over my ~20,000 flight miles (H class). Maybe they'll bring back the bigger bonus next winter? Let's hope...

WHAT????? 10000 bonus miles????? was is because of 911 and they are trying to get ppl flying again???

Down here in SYD, booking thru the net usually cost a few hundred bucks (looking at A$500) more than booking thru a travel agent.

the promo refers to booking a "transpacific" flight, while the small print refers to roundtrip travel between "north america and asia".

so does a trip to sydney via hong-kong qualify for the 5000 aadvantage mile bonus?

That 10000 bonus - you had to book before March 31, 2002, but you could travel till sometime in the fall of next year(2003). I believe that was also exclusive for the North American market.

The bonus sounds good. But I priced a ticket to Asia last week and found the price at the international cathaypacific.com to be more than $200 less than that quoted by cathay-usa.com.

I did the exact same trip on cathaypacific that I booked on cathay-usa and it came back with the same price.
Here is my itinerary: LAX-HKG-SFO in September.
