Am scheduled to do this route in a couple of weeks. On the HKG-SYD leg it's scheduled as an A330-300 which I believe has the new J seats as a friend took the flight recently. But on the return SYD-HKG I am scheduled on a 747-700, will this have new J as well?

Wow! The 700, huh? Have I really slept that long?

Sorry, I've been away from civilization for a while. Is someone suggesting that CX has beds in 'J'??

Yes, the new J seats are flat beds, but not quite horizontal (a different design from the BA beds in J). I've seen them but not sat in them, and it looks like a very clever and innovative design. And a bed is a bed, even if it is a bit tilted. One of the few routes that has reliable new J service is SYD-HKG. SFO and YYZ also often have the new J, but plane substitutions do happen.

That's why I do my SYD-HKG trips on the 333 flights!
