This topic has changed enough that I think it should get a new thread.

CX's new LAX-HKG 10/week departures all leave around midnight. There are no day flights.

The 747s are showing up from SFO starting July 1!

CX sometimes subsititutes the SFO flights with 747s. This could just mean for the peak SUMMER TRAVEL season only.

Way back in mid January, the flight I was booked on between HKG and SFO turned out to be a 747. I was disappointed in a way because I was looking forward to spending hours going through StudioCX but was relgated to the usual repetitious movies I've seen time and time again.

Still it was nice when one is in the upper classes such as myself... won't say where!

I confirmed with CX that the new 744 service to North America is using parked aircraft. Apparently they had 6 parked and are now putting them back into service. They have robust demand, except in F (my last 3 flights have been completely full in Y/C but only half full in F). I wonder if they refurbished the 747s while they were parked?
