I am presently booked LAX-HKG leaving late at night. Is there a lounge (OW Saphire level) in LAX ? HKG ? What meals are served on this flight both ways ? How would you rate this eervice compared to UA in Coach ?

I don't think you can use HKG Lounge on arrival but yes you can use CX's lounge (wing or pier) when you leave HKG. for food and entertainment, I will vote CX over UA. CX's seating is tighter than AA, not sure when compare with UA. Guy Betsy Mar 31, 02, 2:42 pm CX's coach seating is tight...but not AS tight as UA. I honestly don't know how some people can sit for over 12+ hours in an economy class seat on UA. You guys must have short legs! Inflight entertainment is better than UA too - at least on their 747s. CX has individual tv's for each passenger with a wide range of entertainment programs. Most important point...On CX, when you ring the call button for service, the flight attendants do NOT ignore you! gear down Apr 1, 02, 4:36 am compared to ua - heaven! Globe_Trotter Apr 1, 02, 7:26 am Hi! Well I'm back from Paris. How boring. Anyway I went on CX Coach with my wife. It wasn't a business trip obviously. It was OK I suppose. I suppose it is a huge let down when you're used to flying Business most of the time (or Economy if you company has decided to cut expenditure which is stupid). The service is good and the food is alright. Nothing else special really. If you get StudioCX then that's a bonus but we didn't. Compared to Singapore Airlines for example, it's not as good. Food is of a lower standard as is the attentiveness of the service. I dunno about UA, but it;s common knowledge that CX compared to UA is heaven! |
