Cathay Pacific Asia Miles - Mileage Calculation

on a hkg/cdg sector the miles i received was 5957 miles (rtn 11914 miles), but when i checked with Kriscom the TPM (ticket point mileage) shown was 5970 (rtn 11940). was i ripped off by cx (i know it's not much miles, but then again......)?

Each airline has their different calculations. Miles earned on flights are usually different to miles used for ticket calculation.

Your first mistake there is to use SQ's system to calculate miles. Try using CX's on-line claculation through their website www.asiamiles.com (http://www.asiamiles.com)

I don't think the 30 miles difference is considered a rip-off. If you're elite (Silver, Gold or Diamond) MPO, you'd get the extra elite status bonus points till Mar31st.

so the maths do not add up do they !

Since I just did HK Toronto return via Anchorage it will be interesting to see what they credit me

I think if you ticket the HKG-YYZ as one segment instead of HKG-Vancouver and Vancouver-YYZ, it will use the HKG-YYZ direct distance (great circle?) so it will yields less miles.

The same way goes for HKG-JFK (even via vancouver).

Airlines aways credit point-to-point mileage even if you stop over for refueling.

After checking, CX can't carry passengers for just YYZ-YVR, so it's not possible to ticket a HKG-YVR and then YVR-YYZ.

So you get the same mileage, whether you fly non-stop from HKG to YYZ or if you make a refueling stop in ANC or YVR.
