In light of the recent tightening of security, will CX check my bags to the final destination (BKK) given the following situation?

Day 1:
HKG-SIN CX (arrive SIN late afternoon)
[Participate in the "Free Singapore Tour" (last one of the day) and Stay Overnight at Transit Hotel]

Day 2:
SIN-BKK CX (leave SIN for BKK in early afternoon)

Even if CX insists on tagging my bags to SIN, will I be able to tell the people at the transfer desk at SIN to intercept my bags and have it put onto my flight that leaves for BKK the following day?

It'll be tagged through to BKK if you're 'connecting' in Singapore.

Even if it is a 20 hour "connection"?
What about it gets lost in the storage area?

You haven't been flying much through Singapore Changi airport, have you?
