Star Alliance - RTW flight selecetion
Hi, I'm starting an RTW x-CAI next week and wanted some advice on which flights and seats to book on parts of it. All of the flights in D (or C for AC)
CAI/DXB/SIN - SQ -ok no choice there
SIN/SYD - SQ - 744 or 777?
SYD/HNL - AC343 better to take the 7am flight
or the 10am?
HNL/LAX - UA 777 or 763?
LAX/GRU - RG M11 or Connect on UA via Miami?
GRU/MIA - RG M11 or UA 763
I've searched through this forum and a few others for seating preferences and although there are a lot of suggestions for F seats there's not much for C class, I'd appreciate any insight. Thanks.
SIN-SYD: SQ 744 will have SpaceBeds in biz class, not in 777
SYD-HNL: 10:45am flight AC34 because it's A343 aircraft
HNL-LAX: Both 777 and 763 is 2-class configuration (F & Y only). I am not fond of both of them.

The 7a.m. flight from SYD-HNL is a 763.

HNL-LAX: This will be domestic 2 class config. I assume that since you book C RTW, you'll get first class on all 2 class domestic flights (booked in A class). If so I would choose 777 over 767, because 777 has slightly wider seats. I also like the spacious feel of the 777.

Avoid RG (Varig) if possible, especially the aged MD-11s. Although not a fan of UA they are way better in terms of seats, service and noise. The MD11 can be disturbingly loud, even in the front.

Sorry but the rules state that the automatic booking of D customers into A on 2 class UA flights in North America doesn't apply to Hawaii flights (of course, the ticketing/booking agent may not see that part..)
if it was me I'd continue with AC in C into Canada (YVR) and connect to the US that way rather than sit on UA in Y on a 763/777 2 class.
