B6 23 JFK-TPA N546JB "Blue Traveler"
DEP JFK: 8:15am
ARR TPA: 11:15am
The day started off early, as I woke up at 5:00am. I was excited about flying for the second time in 2 months, and very eagerly anticipated a weekend in FLA. My friend who I was traveling with, was at my house at 6:45am to pick me up. We arrived at Terminal 6 around 7:00am, waiting for boarding passes took 10 minutes. As my flight would not leave until 8:15am, we had 45 minutes to kill by the gate area, and from looking around, it seemed that most of the other flights departing that morning, were also quite full. Boarding commenced, our flight was almost 100% full that morning. While taxing I saw many other B6 A320's, various AA, UA, DL, and a single CI 747 taxiing out. While taxing for takeoff the pilot came on the PA, and announced we would be cutting the line for takeoff, due to having another ATC onboard. Sure enough, we entered RWY. 31L at Kilo Alpha, ahead of 5 other flights. Takeoff was smooth, and there was not a cloud in the sky. Our routing was over NJ, down to PHL, BWI, central VA, CAE, NC, and crossing into FLA over JAX. Typical B6 service on this flight, having direct TV on board is awesome though. There is always something interesting on, and time just flies when watching. We landed at 10:50am, in a relatively slow TPA airport. I saw my first FL CRJ, along with the normal selection of DL 757, and 767s, along with the other major US domestic carriers. We than took the tram, in order to claim our bags.

B6 28 TPA-JFK N510JB "Out Of The Blue"
DEP TPA: 5:05pm
ARR JFK: 7:35pm
We arrived at TPA around 1:00om, for the 5:05pm departure. I was trying to locate an airport bar that would show the Giants-Jets game, but alas the only football action we would see that day was Saints-Buccaneers. While walking around the airport, which wasn't very interesting, I noticed a nice aviation themed store, and the pool located near the Marriott airport. Boarding began at 4:35pm, and I would be boarding in the rear, due to my sitting in row 25. It's always nice to walk on the tarmac, gives a great feel of the airport action. We departed on time and lift-off on this 100% full flight, was 5:16pm. The clouds looked great under late day sun, and I also saw many other flight passing by. As darkness came on, I settled in to watching ESPNEWS, in order to catchup on the NFL scores. Our routing was in reverse of the trip down to TPA. We left FLA over JAX, crossed over Valdosta, SC, NC, PHF, DE, and finally made landfall again over SIE. Descent started over ACY, and I was hoping we would land on 13L. This would bring our flight directly over my house. Descent was rapid, and by watching the airmap, I was able to determine we would be landing on 13L. I could see other planes coming/going to JFK, and most likely LGA as well. Soon enough the Rockaway's appeared, along with the LI coast line. We gradually followed the Belt Parkway, touchdown on 13L occurred at 7:27pm. JFK was quite busy at this time, especially at the B6 terminal. Out bags took around 30 minutes to arrive, and the taxi line was 45 minutes long. Hope you enjoyed my report !

when i was in vegas last week at the jetblue gate, i noticed they also board there from the front and rear door. we do that all the time in burbank, but i have never really seen an airport with jetways use the rear door as well for boarding

On my B6 flight in August to Las Vegas, we de-boarded through the back, and front. My return flight to JFK left at 1:00am, so we only boarded through the front.
I assume that was more a safery issue than anything, as they wouldnt want people walking out there in the dark.

I think the person said that there was an employee of air traffic control on board, and as a courtesy, ground control/tower probably allowed the aircraft expedited access to the runway.
