N.B. This TR will be done in stages, with new material posted as it becomes available.

First and foremost, I dedicate this Trip Report to B747-437B and N866DA, who have "raised the bar" as to what qualifies as an excellent Trip Report. I hope this TR meets with their approval.

Introduction

Having missed out on the BA $20 deal, I decided to burn my remaining stash of US Airways Dividend Miles for a Spring Break trip to Asia in US First/NW World Business Class. I know, US is not going under, but as far as I'm concerned, DM is as good as dead if we have to rely on United to go beyond Hickory, NC. The US agents were able to put together a long and arduous itinerary, as follows:

ATL-CLT-SFO-NRT-SIN-(X)BKK-NRT-SFO-PHL-ATL

To get between SIN and BKK, I purchased a one-way ticket on Indian Airlines for about $120 USD incl. tax + shipping. And so begins my segment-by-segment account of a grueling-but-exciting trip to the continent that never ceases to amaze me.

Does Indian Airlines stamp your passport when you fly them internationally? By the way, you could have flown SAS for fewer rupees.

By any chance, did you read my thread before you posted yours? I am just curious because the title of your topic is quite similar to mine. Maybe just coincidence but I have noticed this happening to me rather often now when I post a topic with a specific names, a few days later several variants suddenly appeared. http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/smile.gif

Not that I claim any copyrighyts, there aren't, but I just think it would be more interesting if there is more creativity.

If you want the copyright for a trip report that doesn't actually include any travelling (but instead mentions of upcoming travel, airport codes and seat types) then I think you can have it. So far only an itinerary has been mentioned here. http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/smile.gif
