So instead of sitting home and watching the Boring Awards and reruns (this being LA the awards are shown starting at 5:30) I decided to take in a movie.

This was a movie I definately wanted to see, but the choice of theater wasn't easy. The 2 closest to me were either Century City with 3 free hours parking or the Mann Westwood Village, where street parking is usually good on Sunday night. Both started at 7:15, and Century City eventually won out.

Pulled into the Century City mall at 7, and easily found parking on the upper level near the escalators that go right up to the theaters. Waited in line for 5 minutes, with only 2 windows open. Walked in and the previews were already going.

Having just eaten dinner, I declined to purchase snacks or a beverage. They showed trailers for Identity, A Might Wind and the Lizzie MacGuire movie.

The movie itself is cute and predictable. Kelly Preston is great, and Gwyneth looks awesome in the Royalty uniform. George Kennedy makes a cameo, I guess Robert Hayes and Julie Haggerty were unavailable. Josh Molina is great as the male steward. Candice Bergen's character actually has some valid points in her message.

The only down thing is that some of the best stuff is on the out takes. For some reason I mistook AJ Langer for Christina Applegate in a commercial I saw where they are dancing.

All in all not bad for $7.50 on a Sunday night. The movie was done by 8:50 and was home by 9:15.

I wanted to see this movie also. It looked kinda fun.

BTW - That was Christina Applegate.

I sure hope you used a mileage earning CC to purchase the movie tickets.

I also went and saw View from the Top this weekend. At first I thought it was going to be one of those 'dumb comedies', however it was not too bad. I also did not realize it was going to have an all star cast. My 9-year brother even liked it and said afterwards he thought it was very funny.

Can I ask why you posted about your movie evening in a Trip Report forum. I am lost here! http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/rolleyes.gif

It's a comedy about life as a flight attendant.

I saw it last night. As my friend who went with me said, it was no BioDome.

I suspect it will appeal to two groups: junior-high-age girls who want to become flight attendants and FTers.

For me the high point was the song at the end (during the safety demo).

Anyone figure out which airline they were sending up? HQ in Texas, hubs in TX, NY and Cleveland? 777's with blue interiors? Big hair?

I didn't recognize the plane they used for Sierra Airlines until I looked up its registration (N636X) online. What a fascinating plane! (And I admit that I've never heard of a Martin 404 before...)
