So instead of sitting home and watching the Boring Awards and reruns (this being LA the awards are shown starting at 5:30) I decided to take in a movie.
This was a movie I definately wanted to see, but the choice of theater wasn't easy. The 2 closest to me were either Century City with 3 free hours parking or the Mann Westwood Village, where street parking is usually good on Sunday night. Both started at 7:15, and Century City eventually won out.
Pulled into the Century City mall at 7, and easily found parking on the upper level near the escalators that go right up to the theaters. Waited in line for 5 minutes, with only 2 windows open. Walked in and the previews were already going.
Having just eaten dinner, I declined to purchase snacks or a beverage. They showed trailers for Identity, A Might Wind and the Lizzie MacGuire movie.
The movie itself is cute and predictable. Kelly Preston is great, and Gwyneth looks awesome in the Royalty uniform. George Kennedy makes a cameo, I guess Robert Hayes and Julie Haggerty were unavailable. Josh Molina is great as the male steward. Candice Bergen's character actually has some valid points in her message.
The only down thing is that some of the best stuff is on the out takes. For some reason I mistook AJ Langer for Christina Applegate in a commercial I saw where they are dancing.
All in all not bad for $7.50 on a Sunday night. The movie was done by 8:50 and was home by 9:15.
