I'm writing this limited and terse report mainly to advise people that JAL is flying the new 777-200 (as in new car smell new) between NRT and SIN..
The Boarding process was typical JAL, business class first, the unwashed masses after about a five minute delay. 1L and 2L were used for boarding, all pretty typical stuff, the only real changes were onboard.
The New 777 has MAGIC-III, the video on demand system, including cameras in the nose and underbelly of the aircraft, more games than I had time to play and an interesting introduction to your destination for tourists.
Seat 24-A (Economy)
Seats are relatively comfortable and with the empty flight we had, I discovered something that AA could learn.. The seat cushions are FLAT, so when you put up the armrests you get a 5'-6" bed thats remarkably comfortable.
Business class looked pretty much like a cleaner AA domestic first configuration, black cloth seats that looked like they had about 40" of pitch and about a 30deg recline or there abouts.. Youre better off in coach on a quiet flight.
Food.. I had the beef with carrots and potatoes, a little fatty but well cooked and the potatoes were nice.. Icecream was interesting.. a wafer surrounding icecream, making it look like a chocolate bar shaped desert.. interesting..
Interestingly, 24A (3rd row econ) is about level with AAs 12A (Business) so its quite amazing how different the configurations can be..
