Trip Reports - HHV, overrated! HWV, great!!

Just returned from 2 week Hawaii visit. Hilton Wiakoloa(Big Island) was FANTASTIC. They treat guests like royality. Grounds and rooms were superb.

Hilton Hawaiin Village however was a HUGE let down. Old, parts dirty and in
dis-repair, to darn busy, staff could care less, and your just a number overall feeling.

I'll try to post a trip report by this weekend but just wanted to get the work out so others aren't disapponited like we were with HHV. Email me with any questions in the mean time.

Rocket Man - I agree. When I stayed at HHV as a Diamond, I had to beg for an upgrade after I caught check in clerk lying to me, also I just don't care for the "beach" there and staff was bad.

I will not use points there again.

The Hilton Waikoloa is one of my Favorite hotels in Hawaii! (Both in the sense of the whole state of Hawaii, and the Big Island Hawaii.)

I was in awe seeing their superb surroundings and setup. The mini tram system and the "Boat" system that went through the hotel were gorgeous! The pool area is one of the nicest that I've ever seen. (Complete with waterfalls, etc!)

It's definately a place worth to visit!

I could not agree more with how fantastic the Hilton Waikoloa Village is!! I stayed on the Executive Floor and I have to say the ladies in the Executive Floor lounge treated me and my family like royalty. I have stayed on many Club Floors with Ritz-Carlton, and the service the ladies in the Hilton Waikoloa provided were equal to the Ritz-Carlton.

We had a great time there! My 1 year old son loved playing in the pools and lagoon. We at dinner at the Kamuela Provision Company and had one of the best meals in Hawaii. Also, we attended the luau there and were treated to great food and a wonderfule show.

We are already planning our return trip to the Hilton Waikoloa when our son is at least 5 years old so he can "swim with the dolphins."
