Made possible by Gold Points - ValuMags.

05JUN02 BOI SFO - Y -UA - 1B
The flight from Boise to SFO was a CRJ operated by SkyWest. The FA told me that she mostly flies DL routes, but sometimes UAX. This was my first time on a UAX CRJ, and it wasn't too bad -- bulkhead aisle seats made it bearable. Dinner at the Crab Pot was delicious. They have the best french fries!

05JUN02 SFO SYD - J - UA - 16G
This flight was operated by a fairly new 744. I was seated upstairs in 16G. I see a lot of you asking which seats are the best on a UA 744. Here's the best J seats on the plane: 15A, 15B (1-2 extra feet of legroom); 15G, 15H (2-3 extra feet of legroom, but also a jumpseat); 25C, 25F (1-2 feet of extra legroom - near galley) I skipped all of the meals, but ate a hot ham sandwich halfway through the flight. The movies were truly awful. They ran out of bottled water. A good flight though. Sat next to a lady flying LON - IAD - LAX - SFO - SYD - MEL. 38 hours?

07JUN02 SYD CNS - Y - QF - 62A?
3.5 hour flight in coach. I was in the very back of the 743, where the plane tapers, so there wasn't a 'B' seat. The legroom is a little better, and you have space for a bag between your seat and the wall. The armrest closest to the wall is movable. I was very comfortable. The service was very good, but all magazines were Japanese, and the plane is showing some wear.

19JUN02 BNE SYD - QF - Y - 19B?
I was on the bulkhead/exit row. No extra toe room here, but at least my knees weren't pressed against the seats in front. A/C was a 763 that had flown from Japan that morning. Uneventful.

23JUN02 SYD SFO - UA - C - 16G
The pilot said this was a brand new 744. I think it was 6-12 months old as most. The seats worked much better than the other 744 I had been on two weeks before. Chicken piccata (sp) was passable, as was the Tiramisu dessert. watched 4 movies, including Shipping News, Monsters Inc, Time Machine, I Am Sam -- all so-so. Robotic FA with pancake makeup (including glitter?) brought me at least 8 bottles of water. UA has excellent 747 pilots. Female pilot was nice.

23JUN02 SFO BOI - UA - Y - 1C
Brand new SkyWest CRJ aircraft. FA's name was Patches -- excellent service. I am now willing to fly 2-3 hours on a CRJ, as long as I can have an aisle bulkhead. Windshear on landing casued us to re-vector for another approach -- from the West this time. The CRJ feels very solid in rough weather. Patches said that she has been on a CRJ test flight for SkyWest, and they tried every manover except a barrel roll. She said the A/C is incredibly capable.

Spudd! I knew that was you behind me on the SFO-SYD flight. I heard you talking briefly before landing about the Starwood points deal. I was in 15G&H. I figured who else would be talking about the Inside Flyer deal, but a Flyertalker? Don't worry, you didn't miss to much on the meals, they were standard BAU (business as usuall), I slept virutally the whole time in between them though, so no hot ham sandwich for me. :-(

Are you sure it was me? I don't recall discussing points with anyone. There was a family with two young kids in 16 & 17 A & B.
