Trip Reports - Should I do another trip report?

View Full Version : Should I do another trip report?

Hey everyone. It is great to have that report done and completed and I am getting some good feedback, here and from my personal e-mail list.

I am sorry that the "kids" came out and played and kinda, sorta wrecked it. I wrote to Randy and he's going to take care of it,
which I so much appreciate. Thank you!

As for the comments made, I apologize.

There are so many people on here making wonderful contributions and it is a couple of people who come on here and ruin it.
I am trying to get friends on here, in fact I am getting friends on here, so I don't need those headaches.

With that, give me some feedback if you want another trip report and we'll start one up.
http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/smile.gif Thanks, Michael

&gt;&gt;&gt; thank you!!!

I think I feel another trip report coming along http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/smile.gif. Thinking of 3 options...
What about Egypt? Since all the Arab stuff was mentioned in the other one?

Thanks!

The Egypt one would be interesting. All standby, interesting experiences, Pyramids and all..... let me know what you think!?
Busy weekend, but will try to get it started.

What about Burundi?! Nobody ever writes about Burundi!! If you've not yet flown there, by all means do so soon and then write a trip report about it! I want to read about Air Burundi's First Class service and those spectacular crocodile cutlets!

Nobody ever goes to Burundi for some reason...

And then there's MIAT Mongolian Airlines! What about their Golden Yak Service?

Please do one on Egypt!! I've never been there and would like a better view from someone who has flown and been there than the tourist books have.

Don't worry, there are some of us out here that enjoy reading good reports so we can see what is out there to do and how to better do them.

Try the Four Seasons Resort that just opened in the Sharm El Sheikh.

They are running a promotion now until September 30. $138 per room, not per person, including buffet breakfast, tax and service charge.

This has got to be the world's cheapest Four Seasons.

There's also a Ritz Carlton in Sharm El Sheikh.

Thanks guys(& gals), I think Egypt it is ... As time permits, will start it today, but the "BOOK" http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/smile.gif will take a bit...

As for Burundi, http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/smile.gif, will pass for now. I just cancelled South Africa and going to Australia instead for safety and security.
It was a strong feeling and I miss Oz so bad... that food at the Golden Century, awwwwwwwwwwww

If you want an adventure, go to Africa. A holiday/vacation, I think Australia does the trick...I will get back to SA, later... I would rather fly over Africa anyway, I loved doing that. With Cathay, just hit it at Mozambique...

I think Kenya would happen before Burundi...
I have flown Kenya Air and loved it...

Francohpile http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/smile.gif, you realize I am just doing a trip report on Egypt, not going there, now anyway. I like your idea...

-I have Australia via Hong Kong in less than 2 months, awwwwww, my bro's wedding in Atlanta right thereafter, and then I kinda, sorta, ah, need to plan my own wedding...
http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/biggrin.gif Plus, I need to pick a place for the honeymoon and I am driving her mad with always giving new ideas... I want Switzerland, she is heading to Bali...Do I want to sweat to death on the honeymoon? Been to Jakarta, Singapore, all over Malaysia. Carried a washcloth with me the whole time. Loved all of it! Oh, but the humidity LOL.

I will get back... Loved the Cairo Intercontinental. One of the best views of the city. We'd go out on the balcony and "park" it for a while, a few drinks, the Swissair Duty Free chocolates http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/smile.gif, and enjoy the view, and the horns... Oh yes, those Dam* horns... LOL

Thanks guys...appreciated...

We always want more trip reports!

Anyway, I would suggest to do a trip with you and then write a report together if you would

a) not steal anything from the aircraft
b) not stead anything from the clubs
c) do not try to take femals crews to your hotel
d) do not walk through eco in your F pyjama

... mmmm .... I think a) to d) is not possible for you, so no common trip report http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/smile.gif

&gt;&gt;&gt; ROTFLMAO&gt;&gt;&gt; Rolling on the floor laughing my A$$ off... someone just asked me what that meant, so spelling out in case...

Did I mention that I love Uli??? http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/smile.gif

The only thing now that is possible not to do is take the female crews to my hotel-have never done that- though I did date a DL stew... My fiancee would be quite pissed at me if I did... I went out with a female friend that I have known for a long time... Ok, dinner and a movie-ended up that way, was read the riot act for it...UGH... what can I do?

I have to take everything from the planes and lounges... Also, it is fun to wear the First class "jammies" into eco... You have to go for walks to avoid DVT and also, it is fun... he he he

I would love to take a trip with you, preferably on LH so that you can upgrade me and get me into alles the Senator lounges...
Plus, I will show you how to strip a plane, more so if you travel with a bunch of my friends, it is terrible... http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/smile.gif ciao

Michael,
by all means, do another trip report, as long as you realize that by posting it in a public forum you expose yourself to possible negative feedback. And not from 'kids playing' as you so charmingly described it, but from our fellow FTers who have every right to politely disagree with, say, any narrow-minded, xenophobic, ugly-American-tourist remarks they come across.
If you don't want to see any negative comments following your trip reports, stick to your personal email list. In a community as large and diverse as FT, someone will find something to disagree with.

thank you for the (long) trip reports.

I would appreciate if you could/would mention the dates (years) of your trips in the thread title (or at least at the beginning of each report).

I am much more interested in recent trip reports (2002) than in those dating back to the last century (I believe I read, at the end of one of your latest trip reports, that it was done 1999).

&gt;&gt;&gt; mashav, very nicely said. i am glad that in your america, people have the right to express themselves, when it conforms to what other people want to hear. you have proven that there in reality is no true free speech in america. one must be politically correct, as you say.

well, let me help you out. your beloved arab nations don't permit free speech. there is not one democratic arab country on this earth. you go and slam my friend for making one anti-arab comment a week after september 11th, a horrible day for america. he apologizes, you still slam him. he apologizes again, you continue to slam him and you have mostly chased him away. if you don't think a bunch of us jews have been watching, oh, we've been watching. you then ruined his auspicious trip report after he put hours into it. seiple, we will deal with you later. arab lover.

when arabs strap explosives to themselves and blow themselves up in your cafes, theaters, and synagogues, or churches in your case, you might feel very differently.

oh yes, your churches. do you worship freely in saudi arabia? no. there are no churhces and there is no christian worship. but then you come to israel and build churches all over our nation. but then you slam us in your press and are pro-arab, even when they slam airplanes into your buildings and kill thousands. amazing. you people are like the sheep to the slaughter. how many times do muslims have to kidnap your diplomats at your embassies before you learn that they don't like you?

now, instead of, as you call flaming,
what a clever word and
so american, my friend w/t -you come and flame me. 10 of my friends, all israelis, are coming on board. you want a flame war? we'll give you one. and you can keep your precious arabs. maybe when they start to kill off your children in your schoolyards, completely defenseles, then you will see how we feel.

For the record,
I am a Russian born and raised Jew who got back from a trip to Israel less than two month ago. I have pictures of my friend (career IDF) and me sitting the cafe on Allenby which was bombed a couple of weeks ago.

Do not begin to presume to know what my feelings are on the Middle East conflict, on the September bombing or anything else for that matter.

This is not about political correctness (which I abhor) but rather the very reason my family sought the honor and privilege of a US citizenship - the freedom from religious persecution and racism which is afforded us in this country (it's not perfect, but it's the best system I've seen.)

If you or one of your other avatars want to continue this discussion further, please email me privately. I have no wish to engage in a religious flame war in this forum.

I don't recall ever referring to Arabs as precious or anything of the nature. Nor did I go on to make blanket racist statements. My political views are not ncessarily what you have assumed them to be, but they have no bearing on this board. This isn't a politics board, so what my view is on situations such as Arab/Israeli conficts has no place here. It is irrelevant on Flyertalk.

All I have done is reply to the harrassing e-mails and posts I have received and replied to insults directed at me. This is completely defensive. What is offensive is the crap I have been receiving that started all of this..... the directives and name-calling that arrived in my e-mail inbox from WT36 instructing me on what I can and cannot post and also insulting me. That I will not take and neither will the others on this board who have received similar e-mails.

Wow, they even type like each other:

&gt;&gt;&gt; thank you!!!

I think I feel another trip report coming along . Thinking of 3 options...
What about Egypt? Since all the Arab stuff was mentioned in the other one?

Thanks!

What a coincidence!! That these friends would even type exactly like each other. Except, of course, ElAl744 uses fewer smilies. http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/smile.gif

When I register under multiple handles (on other message boards, NOT FT) at least I disguise the writing and typing style http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/wink.gif - if you're not going to put that much effort into it, then why bother with duplicate registrations?

i am sorry that i didn't get on here sooner

yes seiple we are most angered at your jew hating pro arab a--</font>

I thought all men of suitable age in Israel were, as a matter of course, millitary trained. Question is, does that really matter?

Dude, if you are trying to flame or troll, pick something besides the Arab/Israeli conflict to try to start with. It's far too obvious.

That said, I'll disclaim the rest of my postings on the matter by saying that my ideal woman would be a jewish-texan-american-redhaired-princess-in-leather-pants, just to cover all bases. Or, perhaps an innocent catholic schoolgirl type, perhaps from the west coast (I guess to get the latter, however, I'd have to wade thru a virtual army of israeli commandos, chasing seiple thru Los Angeles). Maybe then we could fly to Rome, and have a mini-crusades (transported by El Al, in paid first--after all, the princesses are floting on daddy's bankroll, right?)

But wait, could the commandos carry guns in California?

Nevermind.

(disclaimer: I'm trying to illustrate the foolishness of this thread by following up in the most sarcastic and incomprehensible way possible--for those who missed the obvious...)

Time to show some restraint and stop feeding the troll...and yes, I think it is one person, perhaps somewhat mentally imbalanced, perhaps a kid. Whatever.

WT/ElAl/Etc. has been outed.

Please dont feed the Trolls.

OTOH, if we want to pour fuel on the fire, maybe someone should start a thread where we all post the inflmmatory/threatening emails we've been getting.

No, wait, Please dont feed the Trolls....
