Poached salmon kedgeree

I chose the mango salad, the special salad and the salmon for dinner. Absolutely great. Dessert was a treacle tart which was very rich. Breakfast for me was the salmon kedgeree which was a mixture of salmon and a spicy rice mixture. Excellent. The only real disappointment of BA meal service was the bread and rolls which actually were stale. But I was enjoying the flight too much to care. After taking a brief nap, and breakfast came ( too quickly) we were landing in JNB. First time for me in South Africa. More later.....

Oh I hope so!!! http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/smile.gif Does BA have an arrivals lounge? Someone mentioned one at the Airport Intercontinental.

Yes, I salivated over the menu, hope you're happy. http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/smile.gif

Please, more! and enjoy South Africa.

Great report!

Your menu is quite similar to the one I had on my LHR-DXB flight earlier this month. However, you had more choices for main courses and dessert. I wonder if that is a function of the larger plane or the longer flight.

>>> That would be my guess on both counts. 747-400 to Jo'burg, larger plane, more nooks and crannies. I forgot to look, did you include Raid the Larder??? I have always wanted to see what this is all about.
Please, keep it coming!

I believe Raid The Larder applies to Business and Economy Classes only. When I flew BA First LAX-LHR-SIN-MEL, the general plan for First Class snacking seemed to be that you could order anything off the menu at any time. Thus, more appetizers, maybe a salad or perhaps even another entree in the middle of the night. I remember ordering one of the light meal options, and artichoke and pepper pizza during one such munchies attack on the 13 hour LHR-SIN segment.

>>> Ah, wow!!! really? This is interesting. I like the flexibility of being able to eat when you want, as sometimes I want to sleep when they are serving, then you're out. I guess not in this cae...It's that dang jetlag thing, LOL.

I am assuming that they put out chocolates, sandwhiches, etc... that is the way to go...
2A, do you have a trip report from this trip? http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/smile.gif

FYI, my fiance is getting mad that I spend too much time on here http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/smile.gif. These fascinating trip reports don't help, either. http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/smile.gif LOL
Keep up the good work NZ man! http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/smile.gif
