Well, this is the continuation of my RTW on the OWE 5 continent explorer that I began in AKL last OCtober. #
Arrived at LAX just 1 hour before the 6:50 PM departure due to horrendous LA traffic. Since I thought that I might not make the flight I called the AA RTW desk who double booked me on the BA flight that would leave at 8:45 PM. Of course BA has great service, BUT I could not earn AA Aadvantage miles on this flight. So when I arrived at the airport I was ecstatic to see that I would make the AA flight. #
There was absolutely not line for security clearance, nor was there any line for the first class check in. What a pleasure compared to the long security lines at Tom Bradley International terminal. Arrived at Gate 48B where the 777 was parked. I immediately walked on the plane to see that first had the FLAGSHIP SUITES, which IMHO are FAR superior to AA "coffin" type of of 777 first seats. I love the desk on the side of the chair to do work. I saw that two of the movie selections were Training Day and Behind EneMY Lines which were two movies that I really wanted to see. The 777 on AA in first has a personal video player and the interactive movie selection that is not an on demand system, like SQ or CX, but still nice.
Amenity kits, blankets, and pillows were waiting on the aircraft. Amenity kits are the standard AA kits as described on these boards before. Menu tonight included#
CHOICE OF WARM NUTS AND /OR VEGGIES WITH RANCH DRESSING
SMOKED SALMON WITH TOAST POINTS
SALAD WITH LOBSTER TAIL AND CLAW, CHOICE OF CREAMY GARLIC OR OIL AND VINEGAR DRESSING AS WELL AS A CHOICE OF FRESH VEGETABLES
ENTREE CHOICES
CHATEAUBRIAND WITH MASHED POTATOES
CHICKEN MANCHEGO WITH BASMATI RICE AND SPINACH. I had this entree which was quite good. It was chicken wrapped in cheese.
MUSHROOM TORTELLINI
VEAL MEDALLIONS
CHEESE BOARD WITH EMMENTHALER, ROQUEFORT,
DESSERT
A CHOICE OF ICE CREAM SUNDAE
OR
FRUIT SALAD WITH LEMON SORBET
Multiple snacks were availble but I could not eat anymore. After watching Training Day, I saw about one half of Behind Enemy lines when I was a bit tired. Pressed the BED button on the side of my chair and the chair became a very comfortable bed. Was awakened by the FA for a hot breakfast 90 minutes outside of London.

GRANOLA, BLUEBERRY YOGURT, FRESH FRUIT, CROISSANTS AND ENGLISH MUFFINS
FRESH EGGS PREPARED ANY WAY ---I HAD THEM SUNNY SIDE UPT

I was very impressed at the food on this flight. It was very good. Good portions. I only miss the caviar that AA served up until 9/11.
