Trip Reports - Barbizon Palace or Crowne Plazza Central?

I have reservation son hold for each of these Amsterdam hotels and I can't decide on which to cancel.

I have never stayed in either.

The Crowne Plazza is 4* and has a pool. It is cheaper than the other.

The Barbazon Palace is 5* but has no pool.

Any views?

Both are really about the same. Personally, I give the edge to the Crowne Plaza, as it is a tad further away from the central station. While this may seem to some as a minus, it does get a bit noisy with all the trams ringing their bells.

Personally, I would go for the American Hotel over at Leideseplein. Lovely art-deco cafe! Even if you stay at one of the others, I would make a trip their for an afternoon coffee and cake.
