This long-planned trip was originally booked as BOS-ORD-GLA-LHR-BOS, with the transatlantic segments in AA J class, using upgrade awards. Due to a death in my husband's family, we had to leave two days later than planned, and when we rebooked, the best we could do (without sitting in coach AND paying a stiff fare increase) was an Aer Lingus J class award (through AA). All went well until we got to DUB on our return trip (Sunday, 6/24), and learned that there was "a problem with the aircraft that couldn't be fixed overnight" (maybe EI mechanics don't work on Sunday?), and that they were "hiring" a plane that had to be flown up from Madrid to take us to BOS. After a 6 hour delay, we left on an AirPlus plane (with an AirPlus crew who served drinks once in 6 1/2 hours). So much for J class! I must say, though, the EI ground staff were great. And we had a great time hiking in the Highlands!
