I need to know where to find paradise. My criteria include: white sand beach, hotel with rooms facing/on the beach, beautiful tropical (read:hot) climate, relaxed atmosphere, not over-crowded,...I think you get the picture. Tell me the hotel/resort where you found paradise! Please hurry, life is short and I must go there NOW!

Being from NJ I would recommend the Jersey shore except you wanted a hot, tropical, white sand beach in a relaxed, not overcrowded locale and NJ meets absolutely none of the those requirements.
Sounds like you need to go to Hawaii or the South Pacific. This is peak season in Mexico and the Carib although some places like Anguilla remain relatively less crowded.
Welcome to Flyer Talk. After taking your trip you must post here.

The Cuisinart resort on Anguilla meets each of those criteria: www.cuisinartresort.com (http://www.cuisinartresort.com)

I loved the island of Molokai, Hawaii
but that was several years ago... I know they have not done much to promote tourism there, which may be a good thing, but am unsure of the quality of accomodations now.
Another more accessible, more luxurious destination might be Kauai?

Molokai = $$$.
How about the Gulf coast of Florida? Destin is one of the top ten beaches of the world.

If $ are not a big concern, I would recommend any of the Aman resorts 9except the one in Wyoming). Amanpulo in the Philippines is my favorite.

Some of the most fantastic beaches I know (for quality of the sand) are on the so-called Emerald Coast of Florida (pan handle area) starting with the overly commerical Panama City beach in the east and over through Destin and Sandestin.
My favorite beach from my childhood was Repulse Bay Beach in Hong Kong. But I hear that in the 20+ years since I was last there, it has become less than ideal.

Rottnest Island, Western Australia.
I grew up two blocks from the Atlantic Ocean, I've lived at or had a weekends place at the beach for almost my entire life, and I've done a bit of traveling and beach inspecting over the past 40 years. 'Rotto' is, simply, the best I have ever been fortunate enough to visit. An island off the coast at Fremantle reached by passenger ferry or light plane, it has beautiful beaches, spectacular reefs, the water of the Indian Ocean is so clear you want to taste it to make certain it's really salty, a climate that I've heard described as "ten months of swimming weather and two months of surfing weather." Bicycles greatly outnumber the few motor vehicles, and there's a range of housing from hostels to deluxe, but from your description of what you want to find I'd suggest one of the nicer rental cabins or the Hotel Rottnest, also known as the "Quokka Arms" after the ubiquitous local marsupials.
I was last there in January, and I'm already wishing I could go back.

The vacation you describe is not my cup of tea (I'm nore of an urbanite) but many of my co-workers rave about Punta Cana in the Dominician Republic having many of the traits you have listed.

AW said it best. Heaven can be found at Le Meridian Bora Bora. Get an overwater bungalow. This will be the most amazing hotel room and view you will ever have in your life. I have been to some of the other places suggested here. They are very nice. In particular, the Princeville is amazing. But Le Meridian Bora Bora beats it hands down. Until I return someday, I will continue to dream about it.

Maldives fit 100% your criteria - try one of the better resorts, that really, really is your paradise.

For easy access and closer to home, there is the Ritz-carlton and JWMarriott in Cancun. Hot, white POWDERY COOL sand, and enough luxury to spoil you. With enough $$ left over for another trip.

I second Cancun for anyone living in North America it's close and can't be beat.
A bit pricey but then again you get what you pay for, and it certainly no worse (price wise) than the murkey French Riviera. Not to mention that the Mexicans are a great people with a lot of wormth and hospitality!
The only other place I could recomend is Cuba, but then Mr Bush might not let you go, which is kinda ironic since the US is "The freest country in the world" at least that's what all the school teachers thought me when I was living in the States.

Oh, we can go, but we just can't let our government know. Although, I am certain, that you can meet a lot of our government officials there! Like Rep. Maxine Waters, etc.

I spent a fabulous week on the Sunshine Coast in Queensland Australia. Check out Noosa Heads. www.sheratonnoosa.com.au. (http://www.sheratonnoosa.com.au.) If this doesn't suit, do a search on the Sunshine Coast.

Couldn't agree more about Noosa. I was there in September for the third time, though I stayed with friends. Great beaches, a nice national park with koalas (you have to look really hard, but they're out there), and there's actually an airport just a few minutes away (Maroochydore) that Ansett and Qantas fly into. I flew in on Qantas last time and we were the only commercial flight on the ground.
