Since a few friends have been bugging me about posting the trip and MrLimo was kind enough to send me the blackmail, opps, I mean pictures, so I guess I will post 'My 1st Mileage Run Report'.

I have posted a pre-trip report (Newark 12/18) complete with pictures in the FlyerTalk Community forum. (Too lazy to post the link). Got to the LAX CO Presidents Club around five to meet up with MrLimo, PremEx, Indurain, and Hunnybaby for drinks. Before boarding, Rebecca, one of the CO Heavenly Angels, upgraded MrLimo on the only segment that EUA didn't take care of. I had already upgraded using the FANF 'One-Way Confirmed Upgrade' certs (as a Silver). Flight was ok, the FA's were semi-ok, movie was non descript, as was the meal (one color pasta-bland). The free FC drinks were great! Arrived in EWR around 5:30a pretty much on time and we headed over to one of Presidents Club to split a bean. We were in the upstairs club by gate 74.

CO was offering $300 vouchers to take a later flight but they couldn't seat us in FC so we passed. Boarded on time, traded seats with a Pax so that we could sit together. Breakfast was better than the dinner a few hours ago and the FA's were nicer. Arrived pretty much on time. Walked around the airport for fresh air and saw the new terminal that CO is building. I had to check in again so I went one of the 3 E-Tkt machines and received my Upgraded BP's. CO has 2 agents working the machines to help out with any questions.
We had nothing better to do so we 'hit the bar' and met a pretty blone bartender named Vicky from Maceadonia. Her smile really lit up when we told her that we flew all the way from Calif because we heard about her bloody mary's! They were good due to the mix that she had made. MrLimo switched back to JD after the first one and that familiar smile was soon back on his face.

They were again looking for volunteers for another $300 but we passed again. A family of five sat in front of us (3 teenagers) so we assumed that some of them were on revenue tix or papa cashed in a lot of miles for 5 FC tickets for a 3 hour flight. This is where we started to say that we were sitting in F and probably paid way less than anyone sitting in Y or even the whole plane for that matter. Again the flight was ok, the FA's were ok, the food was so-so, but flying with a friend was great. Arrived in EWR about 20 minutes early to find Catman, Vulcan, and Doc waiting for us at the gate. As we were heading over to the new PC, Kitty Hawk walked up to us and said that we must be the FlyerTalkers.
The new club is great. Big and roomy and even has shower facilities. The bar is something else. Check out the picture of MrLimo with his Jack Daniels on the rocks. We were soon joined by dsimon and JeffS and we all sat around swapping lies and swilling suds. Where did the 4 hour layover go? It was soon time to depart and I needed to make a few last minute Christmas purchases so we headed out to the shops. We picked up the free magazines from the racks that CO puts out in front of the new club. On our next flight, there was a guy who picked up at least 15 magazines for the ride home.

Catman and Vulcan waited at the gate with us since our plane was delayed due to waiting for the crew to arrive. We said our goodbyes and found our seats. MrLimo traded seats with another pax so that we could sit together again. On this flight we received the BusinessFirst treatment. Choice of 4 entree's, Beef Tenderloin, Salmon, Chicken, and Cigarman's Tri-Color Pasta. Had a few glasses of Frescobaldi before dinner and even received the Hearlded 'Warm Nuts in a Chaffing Dish'!. The Tenderloin was a little overcooked but the salad was great with crumbled blue cheese and calmada olives! This was followed by the Ice Cream Sundaes. We got to see a double feature on this flight but I only watched the 2nd movie, The Replacements. I really keyed on the cheerleaders in this movie and I think the rest of the movie was about football or something like that. The FA's were great on this flight. They called a pax from coach to fill one of the seats in firt. I asked her how she determined who to pick and she replied that the gate furnishes a list of the elites.
Arrived a few minutes early so we headed over to the PC to relax and say hi to the Angels that saw us off a short 24-30 hours earlier. Finally got home around 12:30a and was back to work by 6:30a on Tuesday. I really had a great time with MrLimo and ended up with approximately 20,000 miles (both status and bonus miles) for the fare of $209.
