Well this was my first trip to Tokyo, and it was great. Was a lot like what I expected, with many people, great food and lots of buildings.

I started on Sunday, December 10th flying from MSP-NRT on Flt 83. Was seated in Business Class in seat 18K. I was hoping this was going to be a newly reconfigured plane, but it was not. The seating was fine though and the flight was great.

It started with a very good meal. Shrimp cocktail and salad, followed by beef tenderloin that was great. Then for dessert they brought out a great chocolate cheesecake. I needed to ask for a glass of milk to wash it down, but was very good. I watched the movie “The Perfect Storm” which I had not seen before and “Toy Story 2” which I had seen. Both occupied the time well. For lunch I had a pizza and ice cream bar. I followed that by getting some sleep then waking up for breakfast.

My colleagues and I took the train from NRT to downtown Tokyo which was convenient. Then took a cab from the train station to the ANA Hotel Tokyo. The hotel was great. I was located conveniently. We spent two and a half days there and then ventured home on Thursday.

We came home via Las Vegas. Flight 78 was great as well. Not a full WBC cabin and it was a reconfigured plane. I had seat 16D on this one. The seats provided much more room, (a foot to be exact) and were definitely easier to sleep in. The food on this flight was very good too. Started with lobster tail and salad followed by Thai barbecued chicken over rice. Dessert was a jello type of cake. I slept for most of this flight, as it was definitely easier. I was very impressed with the new cabin. It felt like sitting in first on the 400’s. The inflight crew was the same on both the flight to and from Narita and they were great. They were very friendly and efficient.

We arrived in Vegas early and got things taken care of before our flight home. The flight was scheduled for noon, however was delayed for an hour as the inbound was delayed due to crew rest. Slept the entire way home to MSP and was back to my house by 6:30pm.

All in all this was a great trip. It was my first time traveling T-Pac, and I was very impressed with both Northwest and Tokyo.
