Thanks markg Dec 9, 00, 12:14 pm SFOFlyer- TransWorldOne is ok - 767 so 2X2X2 seating, better than average recline but only a medal footbar, there should be a "slipcover" on the seat(for overnight flights), plaid blanket or a comforter on request, little kit bag with toothpaste, eyeshades, slippers, etc...The food is ok, the salads were great. In seat video - just hope they remeber to load the video's! Some of the FA's can really be fantastic. IMO-better than UAL Business Class Not as good as US Envoy or US and UAL First, Not as good as Delta or CO Business-First, Better than AF. Have a good trip. MG socalterp Dec 10, 00, 10:01 am Technically, TWOne is branded as a premium business class product, not FC. TW has gone the way of DL, CO and US in this area. 6 across on a 767 makes for pretty narrow seats, but 57 inches of pitch and good recline. The seats are all manual adjustments- no fancy electronic gadgets like lumbar massage, but are quite comfortable, IMO. The in-seat video uses small tapes obtained from the F/A's- about 12 titles or so. The players are just for movies- no games, Airshow, etc. The F/A's should be JFK based, and quite senior. The majority are really good. As for food, have heard that the chateaubriand is one of the better entrees. Please post a report once back from CAI. I'm off to CDG in a few weeks in TWOne and am interested in your experience. The duvets/blankets on the o'nite flights looked wonderful--big and natural fiber, nicely crisply ironed. harold Dec 11, 00, 9:46 am In terms of video, I don't see how anything could top the Sony Passport system on US. No need to bother with tapes or loops, just pick what you want when you want it. It's really nice being able to pause and pick up right where you left off. geo1004 Dec 11, 00, 10:29 am Originally posted by socalterp: Technically, TWOne is branded as a premium business class product, not FC. I believe that US is still 2-class on the 767s- is that correct? And does US plan on converting those to 3-class? As for TW's video system, I remember being able to stop/pause/rewind etc. at will since it works pretty much like a VCR/DVD. BizJet Dec 11, 00, 2:11 pm First Class on the 767s? No. Plans to do so? No. lalala Dec 15, 00, 12:08 pm I've done two RT in TWO this past month. JFK-MXP was the worst TWO experience I've ever done. Unbelievably rude FAs, no amenity kit, no upfront video offered, food was okay, but the crew's rudeness and complaceny made me fume. Now, this may be because they are losing the route and they just don't care, but it didn't make me feel particularily happy about this service. In contrast, CDG-STL was amazing. Really attentive FAs, nice wines, upfront videos were distributed, excellent food, clean cabin, nice service. STL-LGW-STL, last week. Good food, v. attentive FA's, food was good going, okay coming back (strange dessert selection, but excellent cheeses). I think this is their flagship international service and it shows. I think the CAIRO service should be good, they are keeping that service, so the FA's should be pleasant. I really don't like TWA service out of NY (don't flame me), but we used to use it for FCO and CDG. The amenity kits are nothing to write home about. It would be nice to spring for some lip balm, hand cream or moisturizer. They could feature some small company that is stl based or uses natural products such as garden botanika. It doesn't need to be Khiel or Dr. Haushka's, but something more than a smint! just my 40,000 upgrade miles worth. lala |
