Trip report New York and Seattle to Los Cabos(part 2).

We decide to spend, day one at the hotel. Dinner was lovely, at Tomatoes, one of 3 resturants at the hotel,
dinner for 2 ran about 55 dollars, and was the last dinner we would pay for this trip, courtesy of the
timeshare folks http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/smile.gif A nice stroll along the beach, some time in the pool and hottub and some other activities
that you're not going to get details on http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/wink.gif

Day 2, we spend at the hotel and made a short trip downtown. another relaxing day, we sit though our first timeshare sales pitch, and after breakfast,
a couple of lemonades and nice tour of the hotel ground, they finally understand what NO means.

Downtown, we had luch at the Rio grill, superb mexican food, Lynn had a fantasic carne asada, I order a shrimp
fajita. The total with drinks came to the mind numbing $13.52. The rest of the day
is relaxing at the pool and the beach. Dinner is courtesy the time share folks.

Day 3, we sit through the second timeshare presentation(it lasted about 95 mins, from the time the taxi picked us
till they finally realized we weren't buying) Since the timeshare company pays for the roundtrip taxi, instead of
taxi back to the hotel, I asked the driver to drop us off downtown cabo. We spent the afternoon shopping and getting
familiar with cabo. We took an early dinner at los Palymas, a great restuarant overlooking the beach at medano.
Using one of the vouchers, dinner ended up costing about 6 dollars. We then took a sunset cruise(another timeshare
freebie). The cruise was on a boat called the Pez Gato. I highly recommend the Pez Gato, the crew was fun. There are
2 Pez Gato's one is the booze cruise, the other the romantic cruise, we opt of the romantic one. The thought of 2 hours on a boat with 40 or 50 drunk 20ish singles doesn't appeal to us. When both boats return, we overhear a few of the couples expressing various levels of regret in taking to booze boat. An hour into the cruise, one of the crew members gets out a whistle and a bottle tequila, time for shots. Hating tequila, Boomer tries to weasel out of this part by passionate french kissing(The other passengers seemed to enjoy the show, one even offered to send me the pictures, no i will not be uploading those http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/smile.gif ) It didnt work, but the tequila was quite watered down and I survived. Lynn seemed very happy http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/smile.gif
After the cruise, we walk around cabo, and who do we see? Jesus, he's the guy that signed us up for the first timeshare, he recognizes us and asks how it went and did we get all the gifts we had been promised. I tell him, got everything". Jesus smiles, "good amigo, you know I work for other timeshares, you want to see another presentation?" These guys are about 3 to a block in cabo. I tell
him we arent interested. Jesus reminds us, we don't have to buy, just sit there and say no, and then get your gifts. What
a racket this is, I think half the town gets some timeshare action, the restuarant, the boats, the sales people, the taxi drivers.
I tell Jesus, we want to spend time having fun. He says, "what kind of gifts would like?" Being a New Yorker, I say, "well what do you have?" Jesus takes out a big thick 3 ring binder, "any of this". I tell him "we'll think about it. Jesus says "I'll be here to 9:30. We stroll around, cabo isnt that large. get 6 or 7 other timeshare folks approach us. We even end up passing Jesus again.
"come on amigo, i can get you dinner, cruises, a car rental, massages" Lynn lights us at that one http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/smile.gif
Ok, to make a long story short, Jesus ends up giving us $100 spa voucher, 2 sunset cruise(this time on a boat called the jungle)
2 bottles of kahlua and 4 more mexican blankets(there are great pon those cool fall nights sitting outside). All total, we sat through 3 timeshare pitches and got a little over $700. I'm imagining people must sit through 2 of these a day collecting all sorts of stuff. Was it worth 5 or 6 hours of our time, I'd say yes. We also learned alot about cabo in these presentation.

Day 4, was the third and last timeshare pitch, Lynn used the voucher for a nice sweedish massage, we had another wonderful dinner again at Los Palymas. Lunch was a most interesting find. A large deli called "senor greenbergs" I kid you not, imagine a jewish deli in cabo? We later discovered a second one called Lenny's. Greenberg's had everything from Pastrami and corned beef to knishs and matzoball soup. We asked to sample the pastrami before ordering and found it to be very good. In fact, its the best pastrami I've had on the pacific coast, south of santa monica.

Well, I'm not fond of those presentations also, but they offered more than we usually see offered in places like vegas and such.
