Check-in was quick and easy. We boarded the flight about 30 minutes before departure. Business class passengers were offered drinks upon boarding. Both the announcements and safety demonstrations were conducted in Spanish and English. The flight departed five minutes early.
Taca used an Airbus 320 with a 2-2 configuration (3 rows) for this run. The seat pitch was approximately 40 inches. The cabin was clean and in good condition. The seats, which came with a headrest and footrest, were fairly comfortable.
Despite the short duration of the flight (approximately one hour), breakfast was served. The breakfast choices were scrambled eggs with ham, warm roll, and a fruit plate or French toast with sausage links and a fruit plate. I opted for the scrambled eggs. Coffee and fruit juices were also offered to accompany breakfast. The quality of both food and beverage were very good. The flight attendants were friendly and attentive.
We arrived San Jose 10 minutes ahead of schedule. Passengers disembarked with no problems. US airlines should learn quality service from this crew. From the gate agents to the in-flight crew, the service was superb. Despite the short flight, the flight attendants were efficient enough to serve a high-quality, warm breakfast and yet still found the time to carry on their safety responsibilities. A-
