2-21: after a wonderful weekend with friends at NAWLINS it was sad to leave.

Before departing the majestic Lion and his beautiful Queen Hunnybear met Burkey, Ling and myself for Coffee and tea at Starbucks.
Then Burkey and I had flights departing at the same time so we shared a cab from the Sheraton to the airport.

Burkey and I decided to check in at the front and wait if one finished before the other.
Yes, there is only ONE PRemier line and as United promised when I called to confirm the reservation the day before: An UPGRADED SEAT!! I had to use certificates this time, 1000 mi, but it was worth it!

Burkey and I talked of the weekend, the great time, him meeting new friends like Holly and Milecrazy and Lion and Hunnybear and Ling and GK and talked of our plans for Cancun (Come on Flyertalkers! Come aboard the Cancun blast in JUNE!)

After a beer we said our so longs until the Cat-Man-Do-2 in a few weeks. Thanks for everything Dr. Burkey, and most of all for being a great brother and friend! http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/smile.gif

Then off to UA 914. Interesting there was no boarding announcement. the guy saw a few guys standing by the gate and said "if you all are in first come on aboard." I was greeted by one of the most friendly F-A's ever, a nice dude who kept asking if everyone was recovered from Bourbon Street. There was also the beautiful Leslie, who remembered me from before. She said I don't fly her routes enough!

I was in 1C and this woman approaches and asks if we could switch so she could sit next to her husband. I didn't care. then I prepare to move to 1A and the guy next to me says "you can have the window or the aisle, no preference." Before I could answer he moves to 1A and I get the cat-bird set: MY 1B!!! (Sorry Lion and Gold!) Leslie laughs over all the seat switching.

Another man moves in the second and last row of coach (only 8 seats in FIRST!) so another couple can be together.

Flight takes off relatively on time. The captain says "partly cloudy and a possible 15 minute early arrival at Dulles." I sigh relief.

Meal choices were the ham/Salami/Deli sandwich and Chicken with Pasta which I took and was pretty good (a few non-cooked macaronis but it was good.) I really like the Lemon cheesecake.

Got talking to Charles, who is the publisher of "Golf Course News" about everything from traveling to being relatively in the same biz, media, to me giving him tips on UA upgrades and suggested he get on board Flyertalk (I told him there are a LOT of golfers here and I would like to learn to play.) We shared a great French Cabaranay with Charles telling Leslie "it's a holiday and we're both still on vacation!"

We land 10 minutes early. I told charles I hope to see him on the boards soon. We met up with his friend who was stuck in coach and I apologized for getting his seat.

Rush to the connection for UA 7510 in Terminal T. then I see the disappointing news: CANCELLED. I almost died right there. Really wanted to get home to calm down stressed cats and try to get a few hours of sleep.

For a rare occurance, the gate agent for Atlantic coast was sympathetic. they were booking people on that flight on some airline called Continental that left for EWR at 6pm and the rest on the 6:30 fgt. I accepted the 6:30p boarding pass.

Then the agent boarding the 5pm flight that was about to depart in 5 mins said "if there's anyone with NO checked luggage you can come onboard."

I think I was halfway across the small terminal section in like 2 sec (runners essxjay and geo1004 would be proud) She lets me board.

Didn't even care it was that little prop plane with the old white, organge and blue paint and United logo or that it was small and probably older than me. I felt I was going to get home a little early.

Went right to sleep after takeoff. then I wake about an hour later and find us still in the air. The pilot says there is major traffic delays so we have to fly around.

The flight leaves about 5:15. We get on about 50 minutes late.

It was just nice that there was NO MORE SNOW.

The END!!

I haven't had bad exper. with the Atlantic Coast people.

But the trip from Dulles to New York (in fact, I did the trip to EWR that you took) ain't much fun on those teeny weeny props.

Don't ever have to use the "bathroom" in these things!

Ahhhhhhhhhh.......Jet Streams. The great thing about them is that they make my West Coast EMB's look luxurious.
