DCA is a pleasure now that they have built the billion dollar terminal. They always have plenty of people at security, the walks are relatively short -- so is the runway :-(
I boarded the 7:45am in F. Takeoff was uneventful. They served french toast or Special K cereal, neither of which I eat (I eat low carb) so I didn't eat much.
MIA was the usual nightmare. I just finished Dave Barry's new book, Big Trouble, and he describes MIA in a hilarious way (read the book!). I guess it ties with JFK as being the most unpleasant airport!
I rented a car from Avis and had a bad experience with a high mileage car. I don't think Avis knows how to treat it's frequent renters.
I had a wonderful lunch at Loews on South Beach, a seafood salad.
After my meeting I went back to return the car. I took the crowded train to the D concourse. No Admiral's Club. Had to take the train back to the terminal, the D Admiral's Club was there! So I didn't bother, just waded through the crowds and waited.
Uneventful trip back. They served a deli plate of cold cuts or a breaded chicken salad. Service was very good on both legs.
