Some observations about Vegas from my most recent trip:
BULLETIN!!! There is FINALLY a Krispy Kreame ON the STRIP!!!!!! http://talk.flyertalk.com/forum/smile.gif http://talk.flyertalk.com/forum/smile.gif http://talk.flyertalk.com/forum/smile.gif http://talk.flyertalk.com/forum/smile.gif http://talk.flyertalk.com/forum/smile.gif
It's at the Excalabar Casino/Hotel upstairs on the second floor in the food court. you take the bank of escalators before the casino and then make a right. Follow the smell of donuts.
It's a big place and there's a line for people. I've seen peole buy a dozen of donuts and chomp down three or four or five of them. Guess they need the energy for slots and blackjack!
Three ladies could not finish their one Krispe Kreame so I had a third! YUM!!!
Now back to some less filling observations:
*There are many many many tourists there and I still get a cringe when I hear people say "Well who needs Europe when we have Paris, venetian, bellagio, Caesars there." yes, this is very very conceited of me. But Vegas is fantasy.
*IT's tough to find cheap tables almost anywhere on the strip. I can't believe that the 10 dollar tables are even packed.
*Mandalay Bay is one of the nicer and quieter casinos. very colorful and not crowded. Nice service.
*PARIS is very very silly. I go to try the Eifel Tower ride and am told "Well it's a 2.5 hour wait. You buy the tickets now and come back." Is it that popular? Some of the employees have gone to speaking Californian and New YAWK English rather then French (and yes, DJLAWMAN, the French music gets annoying after awhile.)
*Skipped teh Venetian. There were pickets outside and I didn't want trouble. And THe robin Leach insident gave me a bad taste for that place.
*Aladdin is supposed to open New Year's Eve, and unless they get the workers to work overtime (or bring in Barbara Eden from "I Dream of Jeannie" to blink) it's not going to be ready!
*Cab drivers still friendly, and I alwasy get an ear full about their life stories (the average driver is divorced twice and has a girlfriend on the side.) Someone should get a videocamera and just do a documentary on them.
*I heard a rumor that Steve Wynn does not like Treasure Island anymore and is going to close it, and redo the whole pirate theme of the place.
*The CATS of Sigfred and ROY are still FOUR PAWS UP!!! My suggestion is less humans and let the cats do the show by themselves.
