National - Emerald Aisle comes to Vancouver

Much to my surprise and delight, I returned home to YVR on Saturday night to find that the Emerald Aisle service has been fully implemented at YVR. This is the first station in Canada to offer the service, but more are to follow.

They still haven't worked out all the bug, as there is only a limited selection(7 vehicles on Saturday evening,) and the check-out booth is a bit slow, but it's still a great development.

Wonderful. I have a YVR rental this Friday. I'm driving up to Whistler, I want to try to get an SUV. The highest category that can be reserved at the staff rate is Full-size.

Was there any SUVs or Mini-vans there Ken?

I took the 3rd car I came to, right after the mini-van and a 2-door Grand Am. I didn't look any further to see if there was an SUV, but I wouldn't be surprised to find one. I have on occaision been offered an SUV from National at YVR.

I just got back from my trip to YVR/Whistler. The Asile in YVR went very well, and I got a mini-van for the Fullsize res.

National's YVR location seems very professional. The YYZ airport location, in my opinion needs a great deal of work - but under current Toronto market management, I really can't see it happening. Quite a shame.

I have had the same experience. Good ones at YVR and semi-horrid ones at YYZ. Long lines to return cars (no staff on long wknd), dirty cars etc.. They do often have the best rates though so I guess its a tradeoff. Can't wait to try the Aisle in YVR!!
