View Full Version : Best PC without CDP?

I've noticed that almost all offers for Hertz have a Promotional Coupon (PC) number and a corresponding Discount Plan (CDP) number. Are there any decent PC numbers out there that don't need a CDP number with it? I need to use my employer's CDP number during the rental so using a different one is not an option. Thanks.

With my corporate CDP, I've found that dollars-off codes don't work. Upgrade codes usually work, although I intentionally don't use them if I am in a hurry. (My corp rates for Compact through Full-Size are nearly identical, so when I book with an upgrade code, I always seem to get a Grand Marquis. Therefore, I don't use the code unless I have a few minutes to grovel for some other car as an upgrade or, failing that, get put back into a Taurus.)

Sometimes the double ZE1 points don't have a CDP. Those can be valuable if you have an expensive rental.

The "good" codes - third day free, double upgrade + double ZE1, most dollars-off, etc. - require the CDP/PC combo.

YMMV.

I can't remember the source for these but you might want to try these. They are only good for a weekly rental.

PC# 948172
$20 off weekly rental
class B,C,D,f exp 03-31-04

PC# 948161
$25 off weekly rental
class G,I,L,R,U exp 03-31-04

I'm not allowed to earn ZE1 points. http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/frown.gif

That's what I was afraid of.

Thanks for the codes. Unfortunately I am always one day short of a weekly rental. Anyone else know of any?

I figured out where I saw those PC codes. If you are Gold log into hertz.com and under "specials" there are offers for #1 club gold members. (They won't show up if you are not logged in.) They change periodically. The ones I mentioned are the only ones listed currently but they expire at the end of the month. There might be some new ones in April.

What is odd is when you throw in a $20-ff PC and it turns your $185 rental into $322. http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/confused.gif

yashan, even when you are a day short of a week, the Hertz site usually prices it as a full week. Sometimes you can get a better deal by splitting into two rentals (to get one of them on the weekend rate) - obviously you should be staying near the airport because they WILL make you swap cars. I frequently use Priceline for 5- and 6-day rentals because of this "feature" of the rental car pricing system.
