I just signed up for a free Hertz Gold membership, that I was eligible for with my small business.
Anyone know of any other promos for free Gold memberships?

Dave Noble Feb 10, 04, 1:36 am "Anyone know of any other promos for free Gold memberships?" Yup. Just register with any address that is not US or Canada. Everywhere else in the world, joining is free. Hardly a promo though, this is just normal procedure. Dave FlyerGoldII Feb 11, 04, 8:21 pm The AMEX Platinum card (at least the Canadian version which I can comment on, since I am from Canada) gives Hertz gold membership, as one of its benefits. jimc_usa Feb 14, 04, 3:44 pm <font face="Verdana, Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif" size="2">Originally posted by pgalore: I just signed up for a free Hertz Gold membership, that I was eligible for with my small business. Being able to walk straight to your car, and be outa there in no time flat! pokes Feb 15, 04, 1:21 am Yup. Just register with any address that is not US or Canada. Hardly a promo though, this is just normal procedure. one problem with that is you better be able to show proof you live at the address you put in. thats a quick way to be either taken out of the service or put on the Do Not Rent list even if your a PC member. But you don't pay for your membership because the amount of rentals you do. " Why? I have never had to prove where I live. I have moved between countries a number of times and have never been asked to prove anything. " I never have had to pay since I live in Australia and Europe Dave [This message has been edited by pokes (edited Feb 15, 2004).][/B][/QUOTE] UALOneKPlus Mar 4, 04, 4:32 pm If you're really desperate, rent a Prestige vehicle and get it for free. DoubleJ Mar 8, 04, 12:25 am I don't think you can sign up for a Gold membership with a foreign address (at least Japanese) right now. The Japanese Hertz website doesn't even offer Gold, just regular #1 membership. Tried signing up through the US Hertz site, but after putting in my "location" as Japan on one of the opening pages, I was not even able to access the Gold signup page, and instead bumped to a page with the message "We're sorry. We are in the process of expanding our new website to add Hertz #1 Club Gold Enrollment for Japan. In the meantime, you can still enroll online by clicking here to go to our original site" (BTW, you can't). Closed all my windows and browser to clean out the cache, started up again and this time tried putting "Australia" as my location. Got bumped to the following message "We're sorry. We are in the process of expanding our new website to add Hertz #1 Club Gold Enrollment for Australia. In the meantime, you can still enroll online by clicking here to go to our original site." Tried using the Frequentflier.com link, and put my location as "United States". Made it to the online form, filled it out, selecting "Japan" as my mailing address (address has to match the billing address of the credit card input), hit continue and...got bumped to the same message page "We're sorry. We are in the process of expanding our new website to add Hertz #1 Club Gold Enrollment for Japan .
