I need a one way rental from GPT to CMH, but the rates are really high.
I've tried AAA, but was wondering if anyone had a PC code that might help.
thanks

No PC codes, but a suggestion. We had this happen last year and found that it was cheaper to break the rental into pieces (in our case two). That way you're not paying the "penalty" rate on you entire rental. Of course, you've got to exchange the cars, but with Gold service that's not a big deal and you get extra miles http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/smile.gif.
You didn't mention how long you would have the car, but this might help.

Yeah, I agree. Get one from GPT to CMH for a day and then rent another at CMH for the duration of your trip.

I've changed car like that before however this time, I live in CMH, so switching isn't an option. I've looked at GPT, and MSY, and the price is about the same.
I was planning on having the car about 6 days. I'm helping my father move and driving his car down, and plan on spending a few days in Gulf Shores before I come back. Might as well make a vacation out of it.
I've rented cars many times one way, but the nearly $100 a day is about double.
I'm PC with Hertz, but I'll guess I'll try another agency.
thanks

It's a long shot, but you might check with one of the auto transport companies. There may be some "snow birds" who need to move their cars up North.

Do you have a "Local Edition" in the area?
I pay half at the Bellevue location down the street from me vis-a-vis the SEA airport location, especially for rentals during the weekday. Plus you save on some of the airport concession fees.
