I'm sure there are exceptions (because one-way pricing is completely erratic), but usually Hertz is double or triple the cost of National or Budget for one-way rentals. Hertz's rewards program is pretty primitive - those free days are just for "normal" rentals. No one-way applicability. I don't know WHY - other than the fact that Hertz probably thinks of one-way rentals as wonderfully profitable rentals not to be given away. rthib Feb 19, 04, 11:20 pm If your one-ways are expensive change your CDP. I do one ways all the time and rarely pay more. pinniped Feb 20, 04, 9:56 am <font face="Verdana, Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif" size="2">Originally posted by rthib: If your one-ways are expensive change your CDP. I can usually "solve" the National website with some code that yields a decent one-way rate. But I can never shake anything good out of the Hertz site on a one-way except in places where one-ways are specifically allowed to be treated as regular rentals (e.g., one-way DCA-IAD or TPA-MCO). |
