Hertz - Ineligible to receive #1 Awards Points - options?

Hello.

My employer pays the annual fee for Hertz #1 Club Gold, but as part of their agreement with Hertz, I am ineligible to receive #1 Awards Points. When I try to access the #1 Awards section of the website, I'm presented with the following message:

"The employer or association that you have identified in your Hertz #1 Club or #1 Club Gold profile has instructed Hertz not to send its employees or members, including you, any marketing offers or materials. So long as this instruction remains in effect, Hertz cannot provide you Hertz #1 Awards points or free rental days that it might otherise provide you."

Since I am only 2 rentals away from 5* status, is there any way to get this restriction removed? Would simply removing my company's CDP from my profile do the trick? I've tried this before, and the message remains. Perhaps I also need to call customer service?

Thanks in advance for your help!

If you are a Marriott Elite, you can get Hertz Gold for free.

Just present your own #1 Club Gold # at the time of rental payment...

You need to call them to remove the default CDP from your profile. You can't do this online. If you do rent enough to make elite, they won't be charging you the annual fee.

Before doing anything to get around this, you have to realize that if you don't use the corporate CDP number, you won't get your corporate benefits, like insurance, if you have any.

Remove the default CDP from your profile and then just add it back in to the individual rentals.

Exactly! Having the corp CDP on the profile only gets you the #1 Gold fee waived in exchange for no marketing material (free days after X rentals) and no ff points. But if you rent a couple of times with your gold number, they will waive the fee.

Thank you all for your help. I called customer service to have them remove my CDP, and I removed it from the website. It took about 24 hours before I was able to change my marketing preferences, but everything seems to be in order.

Now I'll just have to keep my fingers crossed that the reservations I've made for the next 3 weeks using the CDP are still in tact!
