Hertz - Can I force a weekend rate when starting on a weekday?

I need to book a rental in MHT from a Wednesday morning to a Sunday moning, a 4-day rental.

Everything I try prices out as 4 weekdays. Is there something I can do to make at least one of the days a weekend?

I might be able to fiddle with the pickup or return times by a few hours, but breaking it into two rentals (returning the car on Friday and renting another one) isn't an option. I tried forcing a weekly rental (5 days), but for some reason it prices as 5 weekdays, and weekly rates seem higher than 4 weekdays anyway.

Weekend rates usually start at noon on Thursday. Will you be close enough to return the car on or after noon on Thursday and then re-rent it? In other words, do two separate rentals - one for Wednesday, then one for Thursday through Sunday? If it's possible, that will be your cheapest way to go by far.

You might have a good candidate for Priceline.

Hertz's booking system will soak you on this one if you can't return the car on Thursday and swap for another one. And no, you can't just call them and say "Close rental #1 and Start rental #2." Their systems don't handle that at all.

Wed-Sun rentals are also a perfect use of the 600-ZE1-point Free Day cert, provided that you can do the Thursday car swap. I use most of my certs for standalone Wed-Thu rentals when I'm doing long weekend trips.
