Found an interesting problem today. I am President Club GOLD and did not have the number handy so I went to the Hertz web site and just booked a car for one week in Hawaii for a total of $243.00 USD. When I found the Hertz number, I went to rebook using the number and the rate went up to $288.00 for the same car. Called Hertz and after being transferred to a couple agents, finally the 'help desk' figured out that my club number identifies me as a resident of Canada where as if I go direct to Hertz.com without my number, I am treated as a US resident. The rate for US residents is lower than that for Canadians and that is why I was getting the higher rate. He was nice enough to override and include my club number on the cheaper rate.
