Hertz - walk to Gold service

What airports can you walk from the gate to a car without seeing a Hertz employee (or other bus driver or automatic train...)
At MDW you can pick up the car without even stepping outside.
I seem to remember just crossing a road at BWI to get to the Hertz pickup.
Are there any other aiports with true walk-to-gold service?
It seems most other airports that allow you to walk to the car have the 'gold counter' service.

I had good gold service experience at BUF. Just walked to gold service counter and picked the key.

I've had a good non-stop walk at TPA.

At CMH I had good walking counter service. However, it was still counter service. Though there it was really freaky. I walked to the counter, said who I was, and they handed me the contract and key - without ever looking at my ID. (This was the first time I had ever been to Columbus.) It seemes somebody could have just as easily looked at the names behind the counter and ran off with a car!

Every airport that I fly in acorss Canada has this. Never had to take a bus to get a car with Hertz or Avis here. I know the US is different.

CLE and RDU both have it. I think that is the only 2 I have been to this year that do though.

Had the same experience at SDF! The regular line had a few customers waiting, so I went to the "Gold" line. One of the Hertz folks leaned over, asked my name, handed me the keys and called out the stall number. (And yes, in Louisville you can still get to your car directly from the terminal.)

DCA is a nonsop walk to Gold service. It's a pretty long walk, but it's a walk.

It's a fairly long walk at DCA but it is all under cover and I've done it a number of times rather than waiting for the intra-airport snail-like bus service. You do it from the gate level (one flight up from baggage claim) and take the moving stairs across to the parking and rental car area.
As for SDF, they always ask to see my driver's license even tho I've rented from them at least a dozen times in the last few years.
At RNO, you walk up to the Gold Counter, pick up your keys, turn the corner, walk approximately 120 feet and you're at your car in a covered parking space.

I actually prefer counter service at Hertz and Avis to true #1 Club Gold and Express Preferred service since you have a good opportunity to negotiate for a preferred or better car ... as long as you don't have to wait in line for more than a few minutes, it's all good ...

Is this new? Last time I was in TPA it was counter service (and very rude service at that ...).

MHT is just a walk, you can walk outdoor if it's nice or take the bridge if it's raining or bbrrrrr snowing. SLC is a walk to the garage also. MSP isn't a bus ride but the train is one of the slowest i've ever been on and it's a LONG walk on top of that.

Last time I was in CLE you had to take the bus to the new rental car facility. Has this changed?
The DCA walk can be long or short depending upon what terminal you fly into. As a Delta flyer, I don't think that the walk is very far and I do it every week. However, I rarely have a week where I don't have to go back to the gold counter b/c every car at DCA seems to be very smoke-filled and I always have to check back in to switch cars. I've also experience a few times where their reservation system was down and so the board was not updating the reservations and there have been some long lines to check-in on monday morning to get your car.

Is this true Gold service, or Gold counter service? At YYZ I had to walk across to the garage, then sign a paper, give them my license, and then get the keys to the car. May have been because it was my first Canadian rental, though.

SEA and PDX are true walk service with no need to visit counter. Names are on a reader board and only contact with person is security guard working the out gate. Not sure about YVR, but believe it is the same.

Unless things have changes recently, YVR is counter only for Gold. All of the major agencies are in the lower level of the parkade (garage), so there's no Gold Canopy service...

At YVR, YYC, YYZ, YUL and YHZ you just walk out into the parking garage and show your licience to the attendant and they hand you your keys. YWG and YLW both have counter only service as they are small airports (sorry YWG'ers http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/wink.gif )
If I don't like what I have I'm never afraid to ask for something different. Haven't had much attitude when I do ask which is also nice. YUL, that's a whole different ball of wax. Might be switching back to Avis there.

At AUS, you can get from your seat in the plane to your seat in your car in less than 6 or 7 minutes.
