UALOneKPlus May 15, 03, 2:04 am As stated in another thread, I talked to a Hertz Gold employee about the Platinum status. She stated that you cannot qualify for it, as there are no hard and fast qualifications. Typically they offer it to people who can influence business towards Hertz... FlyinHawaiian May 15, 03, 11:58 am Hertz also offers Platinum membership as a means of gratitude for those who offer them a corporate service. The people I know who are Hertz Platinum received their status by legally representing Hertz as outside counsel for quite a few years. The invitation came from Frank Olson, who was the CEO of Hertz at the time. A very nice gesture. (BTW, their Plat. membership is free) It is, from what I've seen, one of the nicest run VIP benefits around. Once in a while, a station may need to be reminded of some of the service levels offered a Plat., maybe the expected upgrade isn't forthcoming, but overall, it is a great program.
