Hertz - Premium Convertible ("PTAR") at LAX?
On Hertz.com, it is giving me an option for a "Premium Convertible" (car class "PTAR") at LAX, at a rate of $161/day, but the site has no description for this car class. Anyone know what this is? Does Hertz rent Jaguar XK8 convertibles anywhere? http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/smile.gif

This is probably a Ford Thunderbird, though I've heard some locations (FLL, for example) rent Jaguar XK8 convertibles.

For $161 I'd hope it be the XK8, but it is most likely a Thunderbird or Volvo C70 Convertible.

If you're even thinking about spending that kind of cheddar for a rental, why not do it right (http://www.310luxuryrentals.com/)?

I called Hertz and the 800# agent said that the example they give is an XK8.
Well, I ended up renting a Volvo S60 instead. When I picked up the car, I checked with the Gold Desk at LAX and they said they just got a few of the XK8s in. Doesn't sound like there are many. I think they have to be specially requested, otherwise you'll end up with a Thunderbird or a Volvo C70 Convertible.
