Are Hertz coupons readily accepted at most airport counters without any trouble? I have a couple of different Hertz $25 off coupons that I'd like to use for a weekend rental sometime in the future in San Jose and in the terms and conditions section it says, "Offer may not be available at some times in some locations." Has anyone made a reservation hoping to use a coupon for their rental only to find out upon check in that the location doesn't participate or that it's a blackout date? When one makes a reservation using a coupon, does the rental location have to honor it?

If you put in the coupon code, if that location doesn't honor them it will tell you.

No need to be surprised if you make your reservation online.

Is it a coupon or a customer satisfaction cert? The certs are good (just about) anywhere. The coupons should be tested on the Hertz website.

Usually, the locations at major airports (i.e. San Jose) are corporate owned and operate in accordance with their coupons, promotions, etc. The ones to watch out for are the non-corporate owned locations. Anything goes there (ex.: TVC).

Thank for the replies. I went to the Southwest Airlines website (the section you can reserve rental cars from) and Hertz's website, entered a Southwest Rapid Rewards Discount Number and a coupon SWA sent me for $20 off a Hertz rental but only the Southwest Airlines website recognized both the CDP discount and the coupon. Hertz's website wouldn't recognize the coupon. What's up with that? Is it ok to book on SWA's site?
