If you could link us to the website this came from, it'd be especially helpful as the misinformed Hertz agent will usually try to collect the coupon. Otherwise it's a excellent deal good until the end of the year - it's combinable with any CDP also, which gets AAA members a 10% discount. Add all those together and the rental should be under $30 with tax for two days, for a Compact car, of course...

Thanks for Promo Code 911282, a330300. I tried it for a three days rental from 05/23/02 at SFO for a Compact Car (B), but there are cheaper possibilities.
Because you have to use Hertz Standard or Leisure Weekend rental rates sometimes it is cheaper to go for web specials (Rate type: LAST) and use - in conjunction with an airline CDP – the double upgrade coupon (927076). In my example you save five bucks and hopefully upgrades are available…

In San Diego, I used the free weekend day discount, which was more than $25.

My experience when they ask for a coupon is to say it was an internet special. I am gold don't know if it makes a difference but have never been refused the rate or deal because I didn't have the piece of paper.

I tried using the PC code mentioned above in conjunction with the costco CDP code. The rate is much higher using both codes.

Using only the costco CDP code, i got 20% off.

Any ideas?

thx

Thanks a330300. I reserved a car locally for the weekend and the discount kicked in on the res notice.

I'll let all know if they try to collect the coupon itself.

Thanks, a330300! This is a great code and it is still functional. I just confirmed a two (2) day compact rental for this weekend's NASCAR race in Detroit.
Total estimated charges...just $26.34.!!!
Outstanding!!

Worked for me too. PNS this weekend mid size for 2 days for $57.00 including all taxes etc. Not like the DTW deal above but is still working. Thanks!

Edited to say:

I just turned in the car this morning and they didn't apply the coupon even though it was in the record. I went inside and told them it was supposed to be $25 off-(an internet coupon) and they adjusted it after I showed them a printout of my original reservation. Make sure your final receipt reflects the discount!

Thanks for your post! I saved $10 by booking standard size w/my own CDP w/$25 off vs. booking full-size w/airline CDP w/free day.

With the PC upgrade, I'd rather be in a Taurus than the Dreaded Grand Marquis anyway.

Same exact thing happened to me yesterday. The guy at the counter had to call Hertz Corporate to see what the code was good for.

Does anyone know where that code came from?

This is an ongoing frustration of mine with Hertz. I have used this couponless coupon at least a half dozen times at SJC and each and every time I need to go into the Gold office to have this adjusted.

I've been told repeatedly that it is easier for me to come to the Gold lounge before taking my vehicle off the lot so that they can fix the rental record upfront. This completely defeats the benefit of having Gold service, though.

I've also taken to calling the Gold number and having them add a note to my record indicating that the rental should be minus the $25 coupon. This does make it easier when approaching the counter because the rep can see what the record says.

Very frustrating, and a big hole that Hertz has not bothered to address.

I was told last weekend that if the coupon code started with a "9" then there was no need to give them any paper. Anything else the agent said, required a physical piece of paper. She seemed very confident in knowing the policy.

Just used this code at BWI a few weeks ago. The counter agent asked for a paper coupon. Unable to comply with her request, a supervisor was called up front. The gentleman made a phone call to "marketing" and cleared me for the promo. Charge just showed up on my credit card and it is for the correct and lower amount.

Happy Trails!
