OK! So it's not the best car (by far) I've driven at Hertz (S80 here in the US and a BMW 528i in Dublin http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/biggrin.gif), but I was somewhat surprised this evening to a find a Taurus with 800+miles on the clock and leather seats waiting for me!! It has NJ plates and has the gear shifter on the floor (it looks very much like the ugly Mercury Sable version). Maybe other folks have driven one before me?
As it happens, I recently bought a 2002 Taurus SEL, which comes with leather seats.

The options do vary sometimes ... I recently got a Grand Marquis with leather seats ... first time I'd seen that, usually they're velour in the Grand Marquis too ... I wouldn't expect it to become a pattern though. http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/smile.gif

Last month, I was given a Taurus w/ leather seats at DTW. In addition, it had a 6 CD changer in the arm rest. Strange for a rental, but a nice touch (unless you're constantly losing CDs in rental cars like me...)
I picked up leather Taurus at BWI when I did a one-way to DCA. It smelled pretty fresh and only had 500 miles on it. They must be getting these things in now.
I had a Taurus with Leather seats in STL..
Is this unusual? I didn't notice it while I was there, but I don't pay much attention to upholstery...

I picked up a brand new Taurus with leather in CLE last week and dropped it off in PIT. Kinda snazzy for a Taurus.
